Fox Glacier

Day 4. 28 Dec (Mon)
Breakfast at the hotel. 

Short drive to Franz Joseph Glacier for shopping & ice cream.

Fox Glacier half day hike at $90/pax was well spent!  Starting point was at Fox Glacier building right opposite our hotel at 1.35pm. After a short briefing, trekking boots, socks and metal clamp-ons were handed to us before heading to the base of Fox Glacier via bus.

After the Fox Glacier Valley Walk to the Glacier Terminal ice, we trekked through the rainforest to ascend the glacier.  Happy to be able to workout the body a bit while on vacation.

Our first experience on a glacier, nice! Unfortunately global warming are melting away the glaciers and eventually they could be gone in the next ~50years.

Before dinner, i did a 30mins jog around our hotel (my first time in a foreign country) & it was sooo refreshing!

We had dinner at Cafe Neve about 5 mins walk from the hotel. Was feeling adventurous so decided to try the Mexican pizza while Gerald ordered the beer battered blue cod.
