Wanaka... my fav place in NZ

Day 6. 30 Dec (Wed)
Weather is perfect today & the surroundings of our resort is awesome!

Skipped breakfast this morning & rented the bicycle for a ride around Wanaka instead.
Trek mountain bike at $15/hour was sooo worth it.  The ride along the Waterfall Creek Walk was simply awesome! Breath-taking scenery along the crystal clear lake, the fourth largest lake in NZ. Picturesque Wanaka is my haven! Fantastic jogging track with great views for biking & running. :)
After returning our bikes, we decided to jog along the same path to try out the Glendhu Bay - Wanaka Track. Simply love NZ for the vast open area & many many beautiful walks that brings us sooo much closer to appreciating mother nature's gift!
Checkout from the hotel & managed to grab yummy lunch from a supermarket at Wanaka Town.  Freezing while having picnic lunch along Lake Wanaka.
One of the main sights at Wanaka is the Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World 2km from Wanaka town along SH 84. Eccentricity at it's best!
Starting with the Illusion Room, with amazing 3D holograms and the Hall of following faces, where 68 giant, famous eyes followed us around the room.

Loved the Ames Forced Perspective room, a mega cool illusion technique used when filming LOTR to create tall & little people.
Next stop is Te Anau, 273km from Wanaka. The driving route was more mountainous sights compared to yesterday's lakes & rainforest.
Stop by ArrowTown for a shopping break.
Finally arrived at Te Anau at 6.45pm & check-in to Distinction Te Anau hotel along the lake. Our room 209 is new & clean, spacious with a good lake view. Looking forward to having a good rest over the next 2 nights.
We went around town for a nice dinner place & ended up having delicious cream mushroom penne & pizza at La Toscana, an Italian restaurant from Tuscany in Italy.

Car Rental day 4 Distance Covered: ~295km
